This is a very common and often used phrase around my house. The context lies in putting left overs away in the fridge!
"My husband can never find space. And, if he does, heaven help me the next time I need to take something out😂" - My wife 😂😂😂😂
But seriously, how many times have we told ourselves a similar phrase, more as an excuse to not do something, or start something new?
I remember, growing up, we had strict play times everyday, outside!
Those two hours were what fueled our entire day. We would get back from school, quickly gulp down whatever there was to eat and rush outside to play.
It didn't matter if there was only one friend or ten. We enjoyed our time.
It kind of made the boring homework time seem palatable, well almost😊
The point here, is we have stopped trying. We have given up on the thought that we can still enjoy the time in our days.
We have accepted that our lives are the 'same old, same old'.
Robin Sharma advises, small daily habits can lead to major improvements and developments.
You don't need to drastically change things. Make small nano sized changes.
We are creatures of habit. So, the first place to start is to cultivate better habits.
Many of us stretch our body just before getting out of bed, as we procrastinate when to get out.
Make that your meditation time, all it takes is five minutes. You will start your day in a calmer, more relaxed frame of mind.
If medication is not your thing, just do what calms you.
Look out the window
Stare at the ceiling
Go for a walk (If exercise is your thing)
Listen to music
Cultivate a habit of starting your day positively. It will make all the difference in the long run.
Now, I know, it is not easy. No one said change was easy.
But, don't you think you owe it to yourself to live a fulfilled life. One where you can achieve things you want to do... for yourself!
One that makes your existence worth it!
One that gives you happiness!
Don't fool yourself with the excuses of responsibilities and commitments.
Your attitude determines whether you look at them as burdens or acts of being a family person.
This post is not about changing who you are or giving you life lessons.
It's about making you realize that self improvement, self care and self love, make it much easier for you to give more out into the world with more meaning.
And, at the end, you get to be happy!
