PLAGIARISM IN PARENTING

Most of us would gasp if we received a call that our child cheated on his or her test by looking at another student’s paper. But did you know there’s another form of cheating going on today , which is more dangerous to students and we are not even aware about. And shockingly this is done by parents...... Alarming isn’t it ? A PLAGIARISM Plagiarism ? what is it ? how its done ? and what are the effects ? But to understand all this , first we need to understand what is Plagiarism ? “Plagiarism is the re-representation of another author’s work , language , thoughts , Ideas . In simple word it can be defined as a “ COPY “ 😂😂😂 ...” In this busy world , we are always running out of time ( That’s what the general excuse ) , and in some manner its even true , we are not able to give enough time for our self even , and when it comes to our children , we think we are giving enough but think twice before you answer .. are we ? I know I am going out of topic but ... leave it . What my concern is , in this busy schedule , we have to take care of our child’s study as well irrespective of in whichever standard he or she is and by some extent we are doing it pretty well by helping them in their study , homework , projects , activities etc.. And here where we are inviting PLAGIARISM into play by obviously knowingly .... SO , here it what we do , as we are always we are running out of time , and we have to do our child’s homework or project , we see what other’s have already done , and rather than implementing our own ideas , our own thoughts , what we do is we get Inspired by some one’s best work , and we modified it to make it our version and we re-represent it .. Done , a big relief and we back to our basic routine... Now we think , what’s wrong in this ? this is not plagiarism !!! we have just take idea of another person further , given it a new dimension , so there is nothing wrong in it .. But hold on , have you asked that person ? have you taken permission to modified it ? and in surprise mostly you will get a big NO in return ... But when someone else do the same to our ideas , what we do .... i don’t need to tell this even. But beware , our children are watching all these , they may know all this and may ask us but rather than making them understand we shout on them by telling “ Everyone is doing the same ” but think ones , do we want our child to become Everyone ???? , our child will learn the same thing , they will copy someone’s work , and when we come to know this , whom to blame ? someone will also say everyone is copying , someone is from someone’s work , someone is copying from google , or may be from other’s ideas , but we will never except it as a copy , we will tag this as an INSPIRATION ... Though to get inspired is not bad and illegal , but to copy someone’s ideas , works , language will stop your thinking power for sure . we will get habitual , we will not think about anything new , and this will lead our child to think “ copying is not bad ” , so stop this... I can write on and on and on , but if we want our child to understand , think out of box , think something innovative and if we want our child to become genius than show them how to be , with your thoughts , but now with your INSPIRATION ..... Before you copy someone’s work , think twice , is this PLAGIARISM ? And if it is than give them some CREDIT by mentioning their name or asking them before taking it.
