“ When nothing works , when you don’t have any idea , when you are in the need of anything or any services , what we do --- nothing , just GOOGLE it “

In the digital era ,where our children are in the verge of technology revolution , we tend to give them everything online , even nowadays we use most of the things online from paying bills to buy stuff , a small pin to big machines , everything is just a click away , and we are saying we are living in digital era where a click is so important . just click and its “DONE” .

We need everything online but when it comes to online Education for our child , it becomes the National Issue for parents bigger than POK .. isn’t it ?

Recently , I was standing in queue for buying groceries , as Due to COVID-19 nothing was available online , I came across a totally new issue , bigger than CORONA for parents , and it was Online Classes .

They were discussing something interesting about online education , as I am from the same field of education , I can’t stop listening to their talk , though I am not habitual to listen someone’s talk (ha ha ha ) but this was in my interest so was listening.

They were saying , this subject should teach like this , this teacher is teaching too fast , this subject is too slow , its becoming difficult for children to understand as they are not using white board and not writing anything , someone said school should provide books and study materials and we can do this thing at home for our kids very easily , and it was enough for me.

I jumped into the discussion without wasting a second , I asked them,

can you teach your child the way those so called “slow and fast ” teacher do ? can you prepare a single worksheet , I stopped myself and changed , can you prepare a single lecture without opening a book not even a single time in half hour and teach the way , so that your child can understand easily or even you can make yourself understand ? , Do you even have any idea how hard it is for us as a teacher to prepare ? it will take 2 minutes for us to say “ ye sab bakwas he” but are we paying enough attention even to the time and effort for preparing that “bakwas” ? if I will give you a chance to teach your child , can you do it daily without failing ? can you even remember how to teach ? are you doing or helping your child to do his/her homework or assignments ? , I just ask everything in single breath. A Pin drop silence took the place, all were forget that corona is barking on our head , all were looking at me and must be thinking , where did this come from ? , and I have just nodded my head and raise a question again , what’s your answer ? if “yes” than clap for yourself and if “no” than keep your mouth shut and let the show go on …. No body clap and that tells everything …..

In this pandemic situation of corona , where everything is lock down including our workplace , we go for online work , have you ever thought or even dreamt of saying to your boss , that why online work ? “ jab aayenge tab karlenge” , no we never say that , than why we always say only negative things about online classes ? Someone may say it’s not convenient for a child , as they are used to study in class , where everything goes smoothly from blackboard to friends , from lectures to homework , regularity you know , seriously ????

Just think and be honest to yourself , are we going to make our child study if no online classes ? I don’t expect an answer but just be true to yourself , can we ever force our child to learn next year’s subjects before starting a new session ? NO again. And more this , will our child even look at the books if we tell them no school and it’s a vacation.. a big NO for me .

Now you all will think , I am saying this because I am from the same teaching field , than sorry to disappoint you but NO , I am saying this because I am a father , and as a father , I know my child. He will not do anything until and unless the schools reopen, we all know that its not possible or not safe in this situations , than why we are against online studies ? ,ok I will give you one fantastic reason to say yes for online classes .

How many of us ,wants to see what our child is doing in class ? we always want to , don’t we ? it’s a one in a lifetime opportunity to study your child , let them also realise that we are putting the same or may be more effort to make him/her educated , specially for mums , I have seen in this 70 days of lockdown , how my wife is managing her day , we can see where our child is facing problem , where we have to help them , how we can improve , what difficulties they are facing when they are in school , it’s not necessary and even not compulsory that our child tell us everything , but during this time we can study them , we can help them to improve , we can make him a better learner , and we have to ..

But a big failure in above point , and do you know what is the reason ? we don’t want to study our child, instead of that we concentrate on studying teachers , we are finding their faults rather than our child’s and there all problems start raising. We keep forgetting that these are the same teachers who teach in school ,at that time we never complain. But if the same teacher comes for online classes, the fault finding machines start automatically.

I just want to give a final touch,

If its new for our child, its new for OUR teachers as well, when we will accept that , online studies will become more easy , more convenient and more joyful.

I am still saying , “give suggestions not comments”……

So let’s help each other, to make the future of OUR child , and OUR country brighter.

So let’s open our hearts & mind and welcome the new era in the field of education.
