Childhood & Happiness

Do you remember what it felt like to feel the innocent happiness of a child?
Seems a long time ago, isn't it?
This morning I was given that opportunity. And I really did cherish it😊
On my way to class, I go through quite a congested lane. Mostly residential, it is used by cars, bikes, and small trucks which is tricky for even experienced drivers and equally dangerous for pedestrians.
Amidst this, I came across a beautiful sight.
A little boy about 9 or 10 years old, small and scrawny riding an oversized bicycle. The pride and happiness on his little face spoke volumes.
You see, he was ferrying two young girls, not much older than himself😅
He was obviously trying his best to keep them all on the bike and in the middle of traffic, his swerving and unsteady trip had me in knots.
Seeing the complete trust his two passengers had in his ability and the sheer excitement, broad smiles, and confidence of each on the other, brought a smile to my face.
I slowly stayed behind them, sheltering them from the annoyance of other people. Giving them a few more seconds to enjoy their innocence.
I trailed them till they turned a corner and on impulse lowered my window to hear their cheerful laughter, filled with happiness and accomplishment.Â
Beauty in these little things are hard to come by. But if we look with different eyes, the wonders never cease.
